This elopement will forever be so special to me! Delaney and I went to junior high together at Parkhill Junior High in Richardson Texas. After 9th grade we lost touch for a little bit as we moved on to different high schools. After high school we still kept in touch and Delaney actually moved to San Antonio for a brief period for college. We were together and inseparable every Friday & Saturday night until Delaney moved to Austin. We both kept growing up and lived separate lives but every time we talked it was as if time had not passed! Those are the best kinds of friends to have…Am I right?
So when Delaney asked me to photograph her elopement it was and no brainer for me. She was in my wedding and I had to be there for hers!
Delaney and Jason were married by her mother (the sweetest touch!) on a Thursday on a beautiful little hilltop at Pace Bend Park. The day was cloudy and storms were a brewing. It did not stop us from having the greatest time ever. We stayed dry for the ceremony but got a little wet for their portraits. Needless to say by the end of their wedding we were dancing and running in the rain! Literally!
Elopements are just so beautiful and absolutely intimate. I always joke around with Jake that if we could ever have a do-over wedding I would have loved to have married him in a cove on some isolated beach in Spain . You know… somewhere romantic and breathtaking! Maybe one day if we renew our wedding vows! 😉
Until then, enjoy some of the many favorites from Delaney and Jason’s beautiful hilltop elopement.
