How fun to be sharing this light and airy six month in-studio milk bath session for little Haley in my Schertz studio! “Obsessed” with this sweet baby is a total understatement to how I feel about her! She is part of my first year collection and it fills my heart with so much joy to capture these milestones for her mommy to look back on forever. I bought the chair from World Market and Jake got it all set up for me just for this sweet photo shoot!
I don’t want to mislead you – photo shoots with babies are full of learning curves! We were actually supposed to shoot at the pumpkin patch the evening before. Haley’s mom stopped by the store to get fresh milk on her way to the session. We didn’t think about the temperature and placing poor little Haley in a cold bath – you live and learn! So, we went to my house the next day so we could give her a warm bath. Could you imagine how this session would have looked if we had put her in the cold milk?! LOL! Don’t worry… I’ll be sharing a new blog post soon full of tips and tricks for milk bath sessions!
Keeping Baby Happy In The Studio
While in the studio, mom stayed close to Haley to help her stay active with flowers and safe in case of a fall – super helpful for these six month old babes just learning to sit and keep stabilized! I love to keep my babies happy. As soon as she is tired of simply sitting on her chair, we introduce the flowers or other elements to distract her and change up the style of the photographs.
Parent participation in the session is HUGE! Most smiles came from mommy chanting something baby likes. For Haley, her mommy sings, “go baby, go baby, go!” It’s the cutest chant and it made Haley smile SO BIG. Letting your photographer know things that make your baby smile is KEY! The simplest things make them smile it’s just knowing which one makes them smile!
