One Year In-home Milestone Session in Seguin TX

Hanson’s one-year in-home milestone session in Seguin, TX was the perfect way to wrap up his Baby’s First Year Club journey. From his mama’s maternity session to his newborn portraits and now his first birthday, I’ve had the incredible honor of documenting so many chapters of his first year.

One Year In-home Milestone Session in Seguin, TX

Home is his happy place so we didn’t want to be anywhere else when capturing his first year portraits! Not only was this a milestone moment for Hanson, but for his entire family. Their beautiful story is one that is filled with loss, hope, love, and strength. Having captured their Heartfelt Maternity Session, and later their Rainbow Baby Newborn once Hanson was born, and now his one year milestone has been a joy to say the least. Getting to know this family and their story has left such an impact on me and is such a beautiful reminder of why photos are, and will always be, so important.

Lifestyle Family Photography

We started Hanson’s portraits in his nursery; the same room where I photographed his newborn session. I love being able to return to the same spaces throughout a baby’s first year because you can actually see how much they’ve changed. The room may look a little different, but suddenly that tiny newborn is crawling across the floor.

One thing that hadn’t changed was the presence of his brother, Harrison. Each session I’ve photographed for this family included the same teddy bear that was created to honor the memory of their first baby boy. Which is why the family photo of mom and dad with Hanson and that sweet teddy bear in their lap and the other photos of Hanson hugging the bear are incredibly special.

First Birthday Portraits

Hanson crawled around the floor, played with favorite green tractor, and enjoyed some reading time with mom and dad before heading out in their backyard. Out on their front stoop we captured a few more family portraits before bringing out the cake. He was a little unsure at first, but curiosity got the better of him, and he finally dug in! Hanson is so sweet, and I couldn’t get enough of his frosting covered fingers and toes.

This in-home lifestyle milestone session was perfect in every way. We were able to capture this sweet family in a space where their little one felt safest and most comfortable. I always tell families to never be afraid to have your home as the backdrop for your family session. Being in a place that brings them security helps when they see a stranger walk in. Not to mention, being at home allows us to capture your story more fully and adds more significance to the photos we create.

I love documenting families in an authentic way that shows real homes, real families, genuine emotion and connection, and all those everyday moments that make up this season of life. That’s exactly what I love about in-home lifestyle photography.
