Capturing maternity sessions brings me so much joy. Seeing couples overflow with happiness and anticipation of their little one’s arrival will never grow old. Needless to say, capturing Crystal and Steven’s whimsical maternity session in San Antonio, TX at Phil Hardberger Park was such a treat. The best word to describe their session was magical. Everything from the weather, their outfits, to the fresh flowers was just perfect.
Whimsical Maternity Session
As we explored Phil Hardberger Park, we took advantage of the beautiful landscape. The field of tall grass created such a whimsical scene paired with Crystal’s flowy dress and the warm glow from the sun. Crystal shared with me that she has been craving watermelon her entire pregnancy. We wanted to incorporate that somehow, as I love making each session personal and unique. To do this, we set up a cute picnic scene and added a little watermelon to it.
The picnic basket held the bouquet of flowers from Piper Rose Floral, which really elevated the entire photoshoot. After this session, I am convinced that florals should be mandatory for all maternity sessions! The white and pale yellow flowers added such a soft and feminine look to the session that I am just in love with! The amazing florist, Janet, at Piper Rose Floral was also a dream to work with.
Capturing Life’s Milestones
Crystal and Steven will be welcoming their baby girl this September. They are beyond excited to meet and hold their baby girl in just a few short weeks. I am so happy we were able to capture these beautiful memories of this precious and fleeting moment in their lives. While I know it feels like an eternity when you are pregnant, it really is such a short moment in time – one that should be celebrated and remembered. It is an absolute honor to provide them with these beautiful mementos from this sweet season of life.
It won’t be long until I see them again and meet their baby girl myself, as they are also part of my Baby’s First Year Collection! This includes newborn, six-month, and 1 year milestone sessions. From photographing their baby announcement to this light, summer maternity session, it has been an honor to photograph their story and I can’t wait to continue to photograph all the sweet milestones for their adorable baby girl all year long.
