Timeless Studio Newborn Session | Emma Kate

Emma Kate’s timeless studio newborn session was special for so many reasons. Not only is this baby girl absolutely adorable and a treat to photograph, but her sweet mama, Brady, actually went to elementary school with me! We lost touch after I moved in 7th grade, but it was like no time had passed as we reconnected during the session. On top of that, it was such an honor to photograph her precious newborn and see her so happy in this new stage of life.

Timeless Studio Newborn Session

My light and airy studio located in Bulverde, TX was the perfect place to capture this new family of three. While my studio is mainly white with windows to allow natural light, the simplicity of the studio helps create timeless and classic images. To achieve this light and airy, soft aesthetic I also suggest light and neutral clothing.

Whether it is a family or newborn session, white, soft hues, and light pastels photograph best. Darker clothing can take away from the lightness and create a harsh look. Emma Kate and her parents listened perfectly as they chose soft and neutral tones for their wardrobe that photographed beautifully in my studio. Wrapped in a white swaddle, Emma Kate slept peacefully in her parents arms during most of the session.

Benefits of a Studio Session

Studio sessions are a perfect option for those families who don’t want their home photographed or maybe don’t have adequate natural lighting. For new parents like Brady and her husband, or for families with small children, going to a studio can alleviate stress levels if you are worried about your house being clean and tidy for photos. However, please know that I NEVER expect anyone to make their home spotless before an in-home session, but I often find that for some people, just the thought of a photographer coming into the home can provoke anxiety. This is exactly what I want to AVOID as I want the entire photography experience to be stress-free and enjoyable for everyone. If you know an in-home session will stress you out, worrying about cleaning up spaces, then a studio session is the perfect option to relieve any potential stressors!

Plus, at my studio you can know for certain we will achieve that timeless look for your photos. With clean and simple backgrounds, your sweet newborn and all their delicate features take center stage, from those tiny fingers and toes to their angelic facial expressions.

Newborn Sessions

For newborn sessions, both in-home and at the studio, feeding can be another stressor. I know and expect that your baby will need to eat during the session – so please don’t stress if your baby needs to feed multiple times throughout the session. I completely understand and plan for it! Trust me, I know all too well that cluster feeding is real!

For a studio newborn session, following your baby’s cues and remaining calm is KEY. All you need to do is bring a bottle or come prepared to feed your baby without worry.  I promise, whether your baby is sleeping peacefully, wide eyed awake, or maybe even fussy, we will still capture beautiful moments of your newborn. If you’d like, you could also bring a pacifier to help soothe the baby in between photos.

It was such a joy to photograph this newborn girl along with her parents. Seeing the love pouring out between this family of three made my heart so happy. As with Emma Kate and all other newborn sessions, I will always take the best care of your sweet newborn and capture images of this milestone moment in your family!
