Celine and Cooper’s intimate lifestyle newborn session for their sweet daughter, Everly Ann, was such a beautiful experience. I’ve had the pleasure of working with this wonderful couple before as I captured Celine’s stunning maternity portraits at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. You can view their garden maternity session here! It’s been such a joy to document these meaningful milestones for their growing family.
For Everly Ann’s session, Celine decided to wait a month after her birth before scheduling the date. Adjusting to life with a newborn is a monumental transition, and for this family, waiting felt like the best decision. I always tell new parents: it’s okay to wait! While I typically photograph newborns around two weeks old, it’s ultimately about what works best for your family’s comfort and readiness.
Why Scheduling Early is Key
However, it is important to note that Celine reserved her due date well in advance, as she booked my Maternity + Newborn Collection. This ensured my calendar had flexibility around their expected timeline, giving them the freedom to decide when they felt ready to document their newborn session. Locking in your due date early is vital, as it secures your spot and allows us to plan for the type of session that fits your family’s needs. Whether you’re ready for photos within those first two weeks or prefer to wait until life feels more settled, the important part is having your session on my calendar.
When families decide to wait to document newborn photos, the dynamic of the session shifts in a beautiful way. Babies are often more alert, offering glimpses of their budding personality. Everly Ann was so bright-eyed and curious during her session, sharing the sweetest expressions and even some early smiles. These moments are just as precious as the sleepy poses we often associate with newborn sessions.
A Cozy, intimate Newborn Session
Celine and Cooper’s apartment in San Antonio was the perfect setting. The warmth of their home paired with their love for their little girl made for such a cozy, intimate atmosphere. They were such loving, doting parents. It was heartwarming and an incredible honor to capture these early days of their life as a new family of three. These moments are fleeting, and capturing them—whenever you feel ready—will be a gift you’ll treasure for years to come.
