Touching Lifestyle Newborn Session in San Antonio

Some sessions linger in your heart long after they’re over, and Callan Kelly’s touching lifestyle newborn session was one of those. Set in the comfort of their home, this session was filled with meaningful details that told the story of love, legacy, and the beginning of a beautiful family.

Callan’s nursery was a beautiful room. Hayley and Ryan, Callan’s parents, decorated the nursery with so much love—from the adorable lab-themed decor to the vintage Tonka trucks lovingly passed down from Ryan’s childhood. One detail that truly stood out was a photograph displayed on Callan’s bookshelf. It showed Ryan as a child held by his mother, Callan’s late grandmother, which I found out is where they got Callan’s middle name, Kelly. I could tell the picture and the name plaque next to it was extremely special. Knowing that such deep thought and emotion went into choosing his middle name and seeing this tribute to Ryan’s mom really tugged on my heartstrings. I’m so glad we were able to get a photo to preserve this special spot in the nursery.

Callan himself was an absolute dream to photograph. He was precious snuggled in his parents’ arms or sleeping soundly in his crib. There is something so sweet and pure about newborns, and I just love capturing these early family moments. One thing is certain, this little boy is already surrounded by so much love and care.

In fact, Hayley’s mom was staying with them to help as they adjusted to life as a family of three. She is already a pro at being Grandma! Seeing her love and support in action was heartwarming, so I gently asked if we could include her in a few portraits. I knew that having these memories of three generations together would be special and I wanted them to have them to look back on. I’m so glad we did! It was such an honor to capture this sweet and touching newborn session for this beautiful family.
