Downtown San Antonio Maternity Session

This year, I set a huge goal for myself—to step outside my comfort zone and explore new locations beyond the nature settings I’ve traditionally photographed. I wanted to incorporate more architecture, historic charm, and unique backdrops into my sessions. When Angela reached out, she had a vision that aligned perfectly with my goal. She was looking for a location with more of an architectural vibe rather than a typical nature-filled setting—all while staying close to home. That’s when fate (and my adventurous toddler) led me to a hidden gem in downtown San Antonio.

Discovering the Perfect Location

I first stumbled upon this beautiful spot completely by accident. I was scouting locations with my youngest daughter, Tilly, when we drove past a breathtaking home. As I slowed down to take a better look, Tilly excitedly yelled, “Let’s get out, Mommy!” So, of course, we did! We explored the stunning property, taking in every detail—the elegant archways, the intricate architecture, and the lush greenery of the gardens. It was truly a magical find, and I knew immediately that I had to photograph a session here.

Angela absolutely glowed as a mom-to-be, and her classic white, long-sleeved dress was the perfect choice for this elegant setting. The simplicity of her gown complemented the grandeur of the archways and the soft greenery, creating timeless and breathtaking images.

Every corner of this location provided beautiful backdrops—romantic walkways, charming details in the architecture, and stunning gardens. It felt like a dream to capture Angela’s maternity portraits in such a unique and special space. Finding this hidden gem was so exciting. I can’t wait to shoot here again as I love all the diversity it provides for my clients.
