Cozy In-Home Newborn Session with neutral colors in San Antonio

The Lovaas family welcomed me into their beautiful San Antonio home to document their cozy in-home newborn session of their second born baby, Cooper. There’s something so special about walking into a family’s home during those first few weeks with a newborn. Everything feels softer, slower, and full of meaning. What made this session even more special was the fact that this family just recently moved into this big family home after moving from their old home in downtown San Antonio. I photographed their firstborn in their previous home, and now here I was, capturing baby number two in their new family home. Capturing these precious family moments in spaces that are meaningful to families brings me so much joy. It felt like a full-circle moment getting to document both of their babies in two different homes and seasons of life.

Cozy In-Home Newborn Session

We spent time in the living room, soaking in all that beautiful natural light. The warm, soft tones made the entire session feel cozy and inviting. Cooper was a dream to photograph. He snuggled into his parents and big sister as we photographed them together. I loved capturing the sibling moments between Cooper and his big sister. You could see how much she loves him in her gentle touches and kisses. It was so sweet.

Fall-Inspired Neutral Colors

Every time a family books a newborn or in-home session, I send over a full wardrobe guide to help take the pressure off choosing outfits. While I often recommend neutrals for in-home portraits, the Lovaas family went with a fresh, fall-inspired twist on neutrals and I love how it turned out.

Mom’s cream dress with a small floral print was actually directly from the wardrobe guide, and she styled the rest of the family based on her look. I absolutely loved the warm tones she picked and how beautifully it went with their living room. It was cozy, soft, and seasonal without feeling matchy.
